Cornflower to play Spring Awakening!

I am so stoked to announce my presence at the 2nd annual Spring Awakening: Food Forest Fundamentals in Grants Pass OR at Middle Rogue Farm. I will be playing an hour set opening for the headliners and transformational music pioneers Liberation Movement & Indubious. Other artists include: Frankie Hernandez, Omiza River, Third Seven Recordings and 3 RING! I will play a 1-hour set between 5:30pm - 7:00pm.

Event Objectives:

Middle Rogue Farm is excited to gather the community in the spirit of creation and celebration for our second annual Spring Awakening: Food Forest Fundamentals

PLAY - Creating a model of sustainability through community action and participation by joining together in the creation of a permaculture food forest.

PARTY - Celebrate a new season with a community gathering in gratitude and enjoyment of music, food, local goods, activities, workshops, healing, and more…

MAY 1ST - MAY 3RD SCHEDULE: On FRIDAY MAY 1ST, we kick off this event with an all-day community-building project of creating a permaculture food forest! Pre-registered participants will eat 2 farm meals with us, enjoy evening music with Frankie Hernandez Music, Erica Starshine Beimer, a drum circle and more. Additionally, participants receive a ticket to the Spring Awakening concert on Saturday, May 2nd featuring live music( Indubious, Liberation Movement, Cornflower, 3 ring, Frankie Hernandez, 3rd Seven, and Omiza River ) inspirational speakers, local organic food, vendors, workshops, farm tours, bodywork and more. Sunday, May 3rd is about minimizing the human impact on the land and connecting with the community.

FRIDAY MAY 1ST, 2015 (pre-registration required, limit 45)

9:00am - 10:00 Workshop (food forest fundamentals, earthworks, theory, plant selection) 10:15pm -1:30pm: lunch (free for registered volunteers) 1:30pm - 4:30pm: workshop (food forest planting with Mika Conway of Seven Seeds) 4:30pm - 5:30pm: (refreshments, yoga) 5:30pm - Sunset: workshop (food forest planting) Sunset - Dark: herb garden drum circle

MAY 1ST Participants Must Bring:

Everyone: A personal drinking container. Fill up anywhere on the farm, good well water. At least one personal digging tool (shovel, hoe, etc.) please mark this tool to distinguish it as yours or it will be donated to the farm as it is very hard to tell unmarked shovels apart. Farm clothes. They will be filthy by the end of the project, this is no time to show off the latest duds. Close toed shoes. We will be digging in the ground with sharp metal tools. A good attitude!! We’ve got good food, yoga, body work, etc. lined up for everyone, because we’ll be putting out lots of energy to plant out this forest.

If camping: (CAMPING FOR PRE-REGISTERED FOOD FOREST BUILDER PARTICIPANTS ONLY) Their own sleeping set up (tent, sleeping bag, etc.) Personal mess kits. 2 meals are included in the workshop so any additional food or cooking requirements are the responsibility of the participant A picture Identification Card (bank card, drivers license, etc)
