In honor of transparency: or being a musician in the modern era

I felt it was time to open the door into the inner workings of what it is to be Cornflower. I have recently realized I have been carrying a lot of weight on my shoulders about my music and sharing it with my fans. After returning from my music sabbatical, I have noticed a pattern that I don't want to continue, so in honor of transparency, here it goes. I hope you will join me along this ride. As a modern musician/artist, it is an amazing time. Due to technology, we are now able to reach the world with the click of a few buttons. Alongside this technological advancement has been the saturation of creativity. Many human beings are now able to express themselves with new tools from the comfort of their own home, or even mobile devices. This is wonderful, as it is opening each and every human being up to their highest potential of expression. However, one of the side effects of this is that there is an over-saturation of music and art, so much so, that it can be hard to break out to financial success and support for your art.

Because of this I made a decision a few years ago to not make my music my primary source of income. In making this decision, it required me to split my focus from solely music creation and expression, to handling a day job and then addressing my music. Since then, my day job has taken off and is doing very well and has required most of my attention.

My day job is the primary reason there is a lack of concerts and album releases coming from me. I have had a hard time with this in myself and have struggled with not being fully in my music, however this process has actually enriched me and taught me so much about myself, that it could only be perfect and in alignment with my greater sharing of music. I have come to the conclusion that it is all a part of the music and is leading me towards a moment when that is where my focus is solely and completely.

Why I am sharing this with you is because I wanted to become fully transparent to my process of musical creation and expression, and in the process relieve myself of any perceived need to be anything other than who I truly am. It is my ultimate passion to be sharing my music in a myriad of ways across multiple channels around the world. Until the time comes when I am able to fully support myself through my music, I will continue to work my day job to help support my life and fund my hearts passion, which is my music, so I may share it with all of you beautiful FlowerSeeds.

Thank you all for your continued support of this music and message. I could not do it without you.

May we all find the path to fully living and breathing our passion in every moment.
